Verizon Announced the BlackBerry Storm 2, Available October 28 for $179

I don’t know what’s Verizon thinking right now. Looks like they’re going to make October 28 as a very special day for Verizon and it’s customers. After the invitation that most likely will be the announcement date of the Motorola Droid, today Verizon announced that the BlackBerry Storm 2 will be available from Verizon’s stores beginning October 28. But at least Verizon has answered the speculation of the BlackBerry Storm 2 release date. So no matter you’re Verizon’s customers or not you now can decide whether to go with the BlackBerry Storm 2 or give sometimes and wait for the Motorola Droid.

The BlackBerry Storm 2 it self will come with BlackBerry OS 5.0 that’s claimed to have hundreds both hardware and software enhancements including new SurePress “clickable’ display technology and built-in Wi-Fi. Verizon will offer the BlackBerry Storm 2 beginning October 28 for $179.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract. While for existing Storm customers the BlackBerry OS 5.0 is now available via BlackBerry website.
