According to some rumors on out there, it could be the HTC Wildfire 2 considering it’s similarity to the original Wildfire. If this is true, we can expect this phone to be unveiled at the coming Mobile World Congress (MWC) event.

If you’re one of Android users running Eclair and not lucky enough to get the Froyo upgrade for your phone, this might be interesting for you. The newest YouTube app for Android now has been ported to run on Eclair. Thanks to rolle3k, one of XDA forum member who has done a great job to make this happened and gave joy to Eclair users for the new YouTube experience.

The new YouTube app version 2.0.26 for Android 2.2 Froyo handsets was released few days ago. This update offers a lot of new features including a new redesigned user interface, in-page playback, personalized home screens, new player controls, and rotate-for-fullscreen playback. With these great new features, it’s so sad if the Android Eclair users can’t enjoy the same experience, isn’t it?

According to the source, you have to remove the default YouTube app before you can install this hacked version. For more details including the download link, read this XDA-Forum post.

The YouTube blog announced that the daily uploads directly from mobile phones to YouTube has been increased by 400% since last Friday when the iPhone 3GS launched. It didn’t mention specifically that those uploads came from the iPhone 3GS, but the video recording capability of the iPhone 3GS that makes it easier to post a video to YouTube could be the reason behind.

This growth represents three things coming together: new video-enabled phones on the market, improvements to the upload flow when you post a video to YouTube from your phone, and a new feature on YouTube that allows your videos to be quickly and effortlessly shared through your social networks. It takes just a minute to connect your YouTube account to your Facebook, Twitter and Google Reader accounts. Complete a simple, one-time connection on our upload page to allow all your friends and followers to get a real-time stream of your uploads to YouTube, which can be essential in this age of citizen reporting and ubiquitous sharing.
