Watch the Huawei MediaPad Sneak Peek Video

Huawei just posted the first teaser video of the MediaPad, the new Android tablet from Huawei that’s scheduled for June 20th announcement. Not much we can tell from this video though since mostly taken from behind. But you can expect to see a fancy-looking 7-inch tablet similar to the HTC Flyer. Huawei said that it will be their smartest, smallest and lightest tablet ever.

What we’ve seen from the video, it’s looks promising so far. But of course it’s all depend on the price and the other marketing campaign from Huawei to be able to compete with other famous names like iPad, Motorola Xoom and PlayBook.

Vodafone BlackBerry Bold 9900 Quick Sneak Peek Video

Among many carriers to bring the new BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930, Vodafone is one of them. And now it has been confirmed as Vodafone posted a quick sneak peek video of the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930. Nothing special though, and even the video is only less than one minute. But that’s more than enough to confirm that Vodafone will be offering the BlackBerry Bold 9900 overseas. Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro Hands-on Videos

The newly announced Sony Ericsson Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro are absolutely mini in size but not with the capability and performance. However how mini they are and how good are the features, you have to wait until August 2011 when the phone available on the market worldwide. So, while waiting for the phone to be released, let’s see couple of Xperia mini and Xperia min pro hands-on videos below including the demo of the new features “Facebook Inside Xperia“.

First video of course from the official Sony Ericsson Developer blog. It’s not so details anyway, but still interesting to see especially the “Facebook Inside Xperia” demo.

The newly announced BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 aka BlackBerry Bold Touch smartphones is probably one of hottest handsets to wait for this year. With so many improvements both hardware and software compare to the previous series including the new BlackBerry 7 OS, the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 will be a tremendous upgrade for BlackBerry users. The phone is expected to be available this summer which is still couple of months to go. Watch LG Optimus 2X – Slow Fines Video

LGBlogUK has just released a new commercial video to celebrate the launch of the LG Optimus 2X. The video was taken at Oxford Street, one of the busies streets in Europe. The interesting thing about this video is that you wouldn’t see any LG Optimus 2X handset shown up. Instead, it shows some inspectors fine people in London for walking slowly.

Just like the title of the video “LG Optimus 2X – Slow Fines”, you can see some inspectors on the video stop people who walk too slowly and give a ticket called “Slow Penalty Charge Notice”. This effort has received mix reactions. Some people were angry but majority were happy and welcome this good effort. And the team claimed that they have issued hundreds of tickets and helped to speed up the Oxford street at least on that day.

The idea of this video i believe is not just to speed up the Oxford street like the inspectors did. But more than that, the LG Optimus 2X believed can speed up your life too and increase your productivity. Just to remind you, the LG Optimus 2X is the first smartphone with a dual-core processor in the world which makes it as one of the world’s fastest smartphones at the moment.

First MeeGo Tablet Demoed on Video

After the join forces with Microsoft, seems like Nokia is now focus on the Windows Phone 7 for it’s next smartphones and left the MeeGo in the second place. However, Intel is still pushing forward and showed a MeeGo tablet at MWC event. But looks like the MeeGo tablet is not yet ready for public consumption. Moreover, Intel also promised Intel-based smartphones this year.

This video below shows how the MeeGo operating system works on a tablet. There’s no clear info about the hardware specs it self. But interestingly, the tablet uses something called an “optical button” at the top left of the edge which acts as the “Home” button. Additionally, the MeeGo demoed on the video doesn’t support pinch zoom.

Well, if Intel is so sure that they will have an Intel-based smartphone this year, there could be a prototype is currently being developed by them. And also i’m not surprised if the tablet used on the demo is also powered by Intel processor. Interesting, isn’t it?

Microsoft Brings IE9 to Windows Phone 7, Much Faster than iPhone 4 Safari

At the MWC event, Microsoft announced the Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Phone 7 along with other features to be delivered via update in 2011. According to the IEBlog, the IE9 for Windows Phone uses the same browsing engine, the same code, the same standards support, the same hardware acceleration, the same security and privacy protections with what the IE9 for Desktop has.

In this conditions, Windows Phone users will get the same browsing experience with the Desktop users including great HTML5 support that takes full advantage of the hardware for great performance. With the same core engine, it’s also a great news for developers as they will no longer worry on coding for desktop and mobile separately.

During the event, Joe Belfiore from Microsoft also showed the popular Fishtank demo on Windows Phone 7 which runs HTML5 code compared to the iPhone 4 Safari. The result clearly showed that the IE9 on Windows Phone 7 ran the HTML5 codes extremely smooth compared to the iPhone 4.

Moreover, Dean Hachamovitch, Corporate Vice President, Internet Explorer on IE9 Mobile also said the following statement.

Quality, hardware-accelerated HTML5 on mobile devices will make the mobile Web significantly better. Developers will be able to use the same markup to deliver great interoperable HTML5 experiences on mobile—a for example H.264 video on Windows, iOS, and Android devices, and great CSS3, SVG, Canvas, ECMAScript 5, and WOFF support. Consumers will be able to enjoy these great experiences with great hardware-accelerated performance as well as security and privacy, using Tracking Protection on their Windows Phones.

So, this will be another slaps for Apple to make better improvements on their next products. I just wonder why Microsoft made the comparison with iPhone instead of Android. Any idea how this Fishtank demo performs on Android?

Ninjas Unboxing 2 Returns to Fight over the Nexus S

As the Nexus S is available from Best Buy today, the next thing people are expecting to see especially who are not lucky enough to get this great phone is the unboxing video. And you probably trying to search on YouTube for this kind of videos. Yes it’s there but presented in different ways by the three ninjas who did the same unboxing video for the Nexus One in January. But don’t expect any hands-on review or something like that. Instead, this is just a short commercial video of the Nexus S.

There’s no embedded version of the video so you have to visit the video link. And also, there are few different endings of the video so don’t just watch it once. And the most interesting part probably is that you can whip all of the comments and suggested videos by using the ninja’s double-stick at the end of the video.

Andy Rubin Demoed Honeycomb on Motorola Android Tablet, Coming Next Year

Don’t be surprise with the title because that’s Google’s Andy Rubin, the man behind the Android Project who told us about that. Yes, he was using the Motorola Android Tablet to demo the upcoming Google Maps and suddenly people realized it’s running a different version of Android than the Gingerbread, the one that people expected to see on the D: Dive Into Mobile keynote. And finally Andy Rubin can’t deny and told the audience that it’s the next version of the Android which previously rumored called Honeycomb. Moreover, he also said that the Honeycomb will be out sometimes next year.

Back to the Motorola Android Tablet it self, it’s a prototype version and running a dual core Nvidia 3D processor. And the Honeycomb looks really different with the current Android interface and of course highly customized with more flavor like “desktop”. However the grids style of icons is still exist. It will be available for both Android phones and tablets.

Andy Rubin also demoed the Gmail application on Honeycomb which uses different style where the email now has a preview section on the right. He said that’s one of the enhancement Google made to Honeycomb that enable applications to split it’s functionality to multiple views and columns.
