But finally yesterday, just as promised NTT Docomo announced that the Japanese-market version of Samsung GALAXY S smartphone will go on sale beginning on October 28 which is next week.

The Samsung GALAXY S features a 4-inch ultra-bright SUPER AMOLED high-resolution touch screen with multi-touch capability, 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video shooting, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0. The phone will run on Android 2.2 operating sytem with Adobe Flash support.

In addition to the access of variety of applications from Android Market and Samsung Apps, users in Japan will also benefit from specifc Docomo’s services include “docomo market” mobile portal, DOCOMO’s sp-mode service which enables smartphone to access i-mode mail accounts and an “e-book distribution service” that Docomo plans to launch on a trial basis at the same day the phone sales begin.

If you go to T-Mobile UK website you’ll see the big advertisement of the Nokia N8 showing that Nokia N8 is one of the great offer from the UK operator. T-Mobile UK on it’s official website claims the phone can be purchased now. Also earlier in September, Nokia said that the Nokia N8 shipments have started. However sadly to say that UK customers probably have to wait a little more before they can enjoy the phone.

The other new Nokia phone running Symbian^3 OS coming to T-Mobile UK is the Nokia C7 with a similar specs but lower than the Nokia N8 and of course supposed to be cheaper price. So if the Nokia N8 delayed too long and the Nokia C7 can hit the store earlier you probably may consider the Nokia C7.

The Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot S006 camera comes with the Sony’s Exmor R image engine which is capable to get up to ISO 12800. The other specs include 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 3.3-inch VGA screen which is kind of contradictory for 16.2 megapixel camera phone. I supposed it should be HVGA or WVGA. Unfortunately the Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot S006 running on Sony Ericsson’s own proprietary non-smartphone OS.

So what do you think, are you impressed with it’s camera or you still prefer the ordinary digital camera with lower megapixel? Apart from that, Sony Ericsson has made a great step and surely other brands will follow. An interesting question is, who will come first after Sony Ericsson?

Compared to the previous devices in the C5 family the Nokia C5-03 looks more stylish and better design with more choice of colors. It comes with touch display while the other two Nokia C5 and Nokia C5 TD-SCDMA came with keyboard interface. Unfortunately, the Nokia C5-03 still uses the Symbian ^ 1 Operating System which kind of old for new smartphones launched at this time.

Basically the Nokia 5250 runs the Symbian^1 and support the GSM/EDGE networks and GPRS for data. Physically, it has a 2.8-inch TFT touchscreen with 16:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 640×360 pixels and 2 megapixel camera.

Nokia today unveils a new handset called Nokia X3 Touch and Type. As the first handset in Nokia Touch and Type series, the Nokia X3 features a unique combination between a touchscreen and traditional 12 button phone keypad. Looking at the introduction video, seems like the Nokia X3 is trying to bring the “back to basic” concept with a slogan “Sometimes you just want a phone”. That means that this phone is really intended for basic functions of a phone just like the name “Touch and Type” but in a new design.
