Best Buy to Get BlackBerry Storm 2 Dummies on October 25th

Although on my last post i said that the BlackBerry Storm 2 will be released on October 19th both for Vodafone and Verizon Wireless, this one is still interesting to read. It’s the screenshot of product inventory from Best Buy. From the picture we can see that the dummy units of the Storm 2 will be available at Best Buy locations starting from October 25th. This one is the one that intended for Verizon Wireless.

According to the source, the actual retail units could be coming a little bit after or before that. The unit will retail for $599 at Best Buy locations with no service agreement.

Just got another info as well that someone called the Vodafone UK sales dept and said that the BlackBerry Storm 2 is probably due for release on October 20th.

Vodafone and Verizon Wireless to Release BlackBerry Storm 2 on October 19th?

Last time i posted an info about the release date of the BlackBerry Storm 2, it’s only said in Mid October. But recently someone claimed to work with Vodafone said that he has a confirmed release date of the phone and it’s October 19th. This date has been changed from previously posted as October 14th. And he confirmed that Vodafone and Verizon Wireless will release the phone in the same day.

The release date has been delayed due to the problems with the radio. See the quote below:

Revised release date - October 19th

Issue – Problems with the radio, i.e. high call drop rate. Stipulation has been made that it has to be reduced to the same level as the S1 before its accepted.

Enterprise or consumer release first - they will both be released on the same day.

VF and VZW alignment - yes. The aim is that both VF and VZW will be releasing on the same day.

OS – Unkown. As previously mentioned, it is currently running .253 so it just depends on how many more drops are required to fix the issue.

The guy aso said on the post that Vodafone plans to announce the Vodafone 360 service sometimes today. So let’s see and will update you when we have the info.

Official Release Dates of BlackBerry Bold 2 and Storm 2 Unveiled

Finally it’s here, the “official” release dates of 2 most wanted BlackBerry devices at the moment, the BlackBerry Bold 2 aka Onyx aka 9700 and the long awaited BlackBerry Storm 2. It’s not really official anyway but at least it came from exremely good sources. Do you want to believe it? Just too good to be true, so let’s see.

Unlike many people think, the BlackBerry Storm 2 will be coming out before the Bold 9700. According to the source, the Storm 2 is set to be released on Mid October and Vodafone will be the first carrier to bring the Storm 2. A week after Verizon will get the Storm 2 and followed by Canada.

For the Bold 9700, seems like the phone will have to wait for few weeks after the Storm 2. It’s expected to be released in Mid November close to first day of December. But good news for UK customers, T-Mobile UK plans to release the phone in October.

German BlackBery 9520 aka Odin aka Storm 2 Photos

It’s better late than never, i almost missed this cool info. Benezblog who posted the info about the BlackBerry Storm 2 listed in Vodafone De few days ago, again heats up the rumor around the BlackBerry storm 2. This time some photo leaks of the German version of the phone codenamed Odin aka BlackBerry 9520. But people just call it Storm 2.

Basically there’s not much info to say except that the phone is branded as BlackBerry 9520 running BlackBerry OS 5.0. And just like the Verizon version 9550, it also has WiFi. Enjoy the pictures below!

BlackBerry Storm 2 Listed in Vodafone De, Codenamed 9990

Few days ago i posted about the BlackBerry Storm 2 Release dates for Vodafone UK and Verizon US. And recently a guy from benezblog posted a screenshoot of the Vodafone ERP software showing that the BlackBerry Storm 2 have already been listed in Vodafone Germany. However unlike the previously rumored that the BlackBerry Storm will have the code name 9550 and 9520, the one that will come to Germany is codenamed 9990 and it runs on OS 5.7.

Looking at the picture above, there’s no info about the price yet so i guess it still takes few weeks or more before it’s officially launched. And according to the source also, the model name as well as the OS platform could be changed.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Release Dates: Vodafone UK in October, Verizon US in November

Many people now are getting excited to wait for the release dates of the BlackBerry Storm 2. It’s getting hot when CrackBerry posted a YouTube video showing the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 few times ago. This video then removed by the request of RIM. And the latest rumor around this highly anticipated device is reported by The BlackBerry Zone.

The guy at The BlackBerry Zone only reported that the Vodafone in UK is set to release the Storm 2 (9520) in October while Verizon in the US is still on for Storm 2 (9550) release in November, around Black Friday time. However looks like the October release for Vodafone UK is to soon since few days ago Vodafone Promotions UK announced that Vodafone UK will release Sony Ericsson Satio in October and seems that it will be a biggun for Vodafone. So i guess it would more likely be end of November or December. Anyway, we’ll keep you updated when new info coming.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Images Emerged

Crackberry recently posted an exclusive images of the upcoming RIM BlackBerry touchscreen device the BlackBerry Storm 2. But then all images removed at RIM’s demand. Fortunately those images have been spread on the net and let’s take a look.

Basically the BlackBerry Storm 2 features similar physical appearance with the first BlackBerry Storm and the upcoming Driftwood with black plastic convenience keys and a battery cover sporting the BlackBerry logo. But now the BlackBerry Storm 2 has a thinner and more streamlined body. Enjoy the pictures below.

RIM Plans the next BlackBerry Storm

After the huge success of the touchscreen BlackBerry Storm smartphone last year now Research In Motion (RIM) is planning the next-generation of the device. This has been widely rumored as the BlackBerry Storm 2. Looks like RIM will use this momentum to roll out another touchscreen device as the answer to Apple’s popular iPhone.

According to RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie, more than half of RIM’s 25 million subscribers now fall into the non-corporate category and the Storm sales remain strong. BlackBerry coverage now extends to 475 wireless carriers and distribution partners in about 160 countries. While the company grews its revenue in its last quarter by 84 percent to $3.46 billion.
