Among many carriers to bring the new BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930, Vodafone is one of them. And now it has been confirmed as Vodafone posted a quick sneak peek video of the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930. Nothing special though, and even the video is only less than one minute. But that’s more than enough to confirm that Vodafone will be offering the BlackBerry Bold 9900 overseas. Just to remind you the quick specs of the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930, it will come with 1.2GHz processor, 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen, full QWERTY, 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, 8GB of on board storage, and more.

Now all we can do is sit and wait until the official release date which is supposed to be this summer.

Another interesting info during the weekend was the leak of BlackBerry 2011 Software Roadmap. Most of them are basic actually including updates for Facebook, Twitter, Ticketmaster, Social Feeds, App World, BlackBerry News, etc. The most interesting thing is probably the integration of BlackBerry OS 7.0 in the end of November 2011. Besides, the BIS 4.1 is also scheduled for late August or early September release.

There’s no other details information though, only couple of slides. However it’s really interesting to see whether the BlackBerry OS 7.0 which is QNX-based operating system used to power the BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet OS, will be available as an update to OS 6.1 or will be released on newer devices. But if it’s available for older devices, it would be a big OS update.

So for those of you BlackBerry users, let’s hope this would come to a reality so you’ll get the QNX-based OS for your older devices too.

For those of you who own Android or iOS devices but have huge number of friends using BlackBerry, this is really a great news for you. The sources on BGR recently told that RIM is planning to bring the famous BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) app and service to Android and iOS. It means you will be able to communicate with almost anyone who use smartphone by using BBM. It’s not clear about the timing or pricing yet but the app it self will be available for free to all users.

Currently there are couple of third-party apps offering similar concept like WhatApp and Kik. But seems like RIM wants to have it’s own too. However, it’s likely that RIM would charge the users either a one-time fee or a recurring basis to access it’s BBM service in this case. But personally i think that would be a good deal considering the number of people that you would be able to connect to and i’m sure this is one of the service that many people are expected.

Anyway, the sources also told that this Android and iOS version of BBM will not offer the full experience of BBM as the BlackBerry has. It means that no photo sharing, location or videos. But i think it’s still worth to have this kind of service.

Last but not least, RIM is said being working on the Android version and will launch it some  time this year. But surely the iOS version will come eventually after that.

Although on my last post i said that the BlackBerry Storm 2 will be released on October 19th both for Vodafone and Verizon Wireless, this one is still interesting to read. It’s the screenshot of product inventory from Best Buy. From the picture we can see that the dummy units of the Storm 2 will be available at Best Buy locations starting from October 25th. This one is the one that intended for Verizon Wireless.

According to the source, the actual retail units could be coming a little bit after or before that. The unit will retail for $599 at Best Buy locations with no service agreement.

Just got another info as well that someone called the Vodafone UK sales dept and said that the BlackBerry Storm 2 is probably due for release on October 20th.

After being rumored for few weeks finally RIM confirmed to release the BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac on October 2nd. The new desktop software will be available to download for free at www.blackberry.com/mac at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Mark your calendar so you won’t miss it.

With the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, Mac users will be able to sync data from Mac applications like iCal, Address Book, Microsoft Entourage and others. It also integrates BlackBerry Media Sync to sync the iTunes music collections with the BlackBerry device.

The BlackBerry Desktop Manager is intended for Mac computers running Mac OS 10.5.5 or higher and supports BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry OS 4.2 or higher.
