In order to boost up sales in smartphone business, LG recently said that they were planning to launch launch 20 sets of Google Android smartphones by the end of this year. I supposed those include the 5 handsets previously announced, LG GW 620, LG Optimus GT540, LG Ally for Verizon, LG Optimus QLU2300 and LG SU2300. So, at least there will be 15 more handsets at the rest of this year.

According to the source, the operating profits of LG’s mobile communication unit dropped to 0.9 percent in the first three months of 2010 compare to 6.7 percent a year ago. The Chief Financial Officer has admitted that LG needs “some more time” for a turnaround in its smartphone department, which probably means the lack of preparedness.

Currently the LG smartphones has already shipped to United States via Verizon Wireless. They also plan to introduce more Android phones to Middle East region.

It’s always insteresting to spread out rumors and this time is the 5.5-inch Android Phone which is said being cooked by Sony Ericsson. It seems something to big to hold up to your head isn’t it? But if this is true, the phone, MID or whatever it is, should be out sometimes this fall.

As usual, there’s not much info available when it comes to prototype. But it’s said to have a 5.5-inch screen and a hinged side-out keyboard running on Android 2.1. At the moment it’s still being tested for low-level drivers. So let’s expect to see more news about this in the next few days or weeks.

Another Android-powered phone Samsung InstinctQ got spotted publicly for the first time, thanks guys for these 4 beautiful pictures. It’s a landscape QWERTY slider phone which is rumored to be released on October 11th or early November and looking at the logo on the pictures it’s clearly shows that Sprint will be the carrier to bring this phone. Detail specs and price info are not available yet so far.

The Samsung InstinctQ is going to be the second Android phone offered by Sprint together with HTC Hero. However unlike the HTC Hero that features the HTC Sense with full touchscreen experience, the Samsung Instinct will come with Google Experience UI. Well, that’s all info available for now and hopefully more detail leaks are coming soon.

Finally T-Mobile unveiled its second Android phone T-Mobile myTouch 3G as the successor to the previous phone T-Mobile G1. The full touchscreen myTouch run on Android OS version 1.5 with no hardware keypad like the G1. The phone will be available to pre-order for current T-Mobile customers starting July 8 for $199.99 with a two-year agreement.

Designed by HTC, myTouch features a 3.2-inch HVGA touch-screen display and virtual keyboard, which orients automatically from portrait to landscape mode in most applications. It also features a 3.2-megapixel camera, a music player with a pre-installed 4GB microSD memory card, and enhanced video capabilities to make it easy for users to record and share pictures and videos, whether via e-mail, MMS or one-click upload to sites such as YouTube™ and Picasa™. The device’s powerful mobile Web experience is supported by fast data speeds via Wi-Fi and T-Mobile’s 3G network.

If you own the G1 phone, you may thinking about upgrading the G1 or not? Many people may said that the myTouch is just a G1 without a keyboard. But to be clear you better read the post about Hands-on of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G on CNET.
