It’s a common practise in smartphone world to see a hands-on video of the newly launched devices after the press release. And for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Engadet has posted the first hands-on video of the phone, i guess. But unlike other videos previously published on YouTube, this time Engadget posted the videos on Viddler. Anyway, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s worth to watch, so enjoy the videos!
Basically the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 comes with modified version of the default Android 1.6 with Rachael UI. Sony Ericsson made at least three modifications:
- Timescape – similar to Motorola MOTOBLUR which aggregates all of your communications on the phone including tweets, missed and placed calls, received text messages or Facebook updates
- Mediascape – media organizer that presenting what you have available locally or online, and making track suggestions on the basis of the song you’re listeing.
- Face recognition – automates photo tagging by recognizing your friends after the first time you tag them.
In addition, Google Maps and the WebKit-based default Android browser that were already optimized are working well. Webpages were rendered quickly and accurately and Google Maps was responsive.
