Palm

Just less than two weeks after the launch of the Palm Pre device, the Palm Pre application store, Palm Application Catalog has recorded more than 660,000 downloads until June 17th, incredible. It’s huge considering there are only 18 applications on the catalog and just been risen to 30 last week, the rest of them are still in beta versions.

So what actually happened on this phenomenon? In my personal opinion, people could be suffered to find applications for their Palm Pre so they will download anything exist on the catalog including those beta versions. Another thing, developers could be curious about the kind of applications for Palm Pre so they will download it just to test it and develop their own.

Anyway, Palm must have done something on this and the webOS SDK will be released for public at the end of this summer. So, hopefully more applications will come and it means a warning back to Apple Application Store.
