Do you believe in statistics? An opt-in survey performed in February 2010 of consumers on iPhone, iPod Touch, Android and webOS by AdMob Mobile Advertising Network recently showed that the Apple App Store is more profitable than Android Market. Is it really the situation or there should be more side factors need to be considered. Let’s take a look at the survey results.
According to the survey, Android and iPhone users download a similar number of apps every month and spend a similar amount of time using the apps. However, from those number of downloads only 21% of Android users purchase at least 1 paid app per month, compared to 35% of iPod Touch users and 50% of iPhone users. The webOS users even made a better result with 24%. The biggest contribution to Apple App Store came from iPod Touch users who download an average of 12 apps a month, 37% more apps than iPhone and Android users.
