Sony Ericsson has just introduced the Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro as a new pair of compact Xperia smartphones. The Xperia Mini is a touch-only while the Mini Pro has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Claimed as the world’s smallest HD video recording smartphones, both handsets powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and integrate the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine with Reality Display and 720p HD video recording capability.

Other specifications include a 3-inch scratch resistant, multi-touch glass screen, 5 megapixel camera (with autofocus, face-detection and LED flash), quadband GSM/EDGE, UMTS/HSDPA, Wi-Fi, AGPS, Bluetooth, an FM radio and a 3.5mm headphones. The phone also comes with a bigger battery 1200mAh than the last generation of mini which supposed to add up to 30% longer runtimes.

Along with these smartphones, Sony Ericsson also unveiled a new deep Facebook integration features called “Facebook inside Xperia”. This new feature will debut on Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro and soon will be available accross Xperia devices.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini will hit the market worldwide in August 2011 and will be available in white, black and dark pink colors. While Xperia Mini Pro at the same time will be offered in white, black and turquoise. No pricing yet to be confirmed so far.
