Nielsen's Report Puts Apple iOS on the Top Spot of US Smartphone Market

Do you still interested on statistics? Here’s some more and hopefully you don’t fall asleep when reading it. According to Nielsen’s October 2010 market share data, Apple iOS has ousted RIM’s BlackBerry OS to become the no.1 smartphone operating system in the U.S. This is matched with what was reported by Canalys few weeks ago. RIM is belived has lost it’s share to Google Android which is on the third place.

RIM who held 30% market share according to Q3 data has slipped to 27.9% in October. While Apple is luckier who just lost just slightly from 28% in Q3 to 27.9% in October. So with the rapid growth of the Google Android, it’s just about the time for the Android to take over Apple’s iOS position which is predicted sometimes in the first quarter of 2011.

That’s all about the statistics stuff. But another interesting thing grabbed my attention was the Nielsen’s blog. I just noticed that it’s using a WordPress theme i recognized. Yeah, that’s Athemia, not sure this is the free or paid version. But i’m just thinking how come a company like Nielsen use this kind of themes for their blog instead of building it them selves (lol).
