3 New Android Phones from KDDI Coming to Japan


Big joy for Android fans in Japan. KDDI Corp who owns the second largest cellular operator in Japan AU, today introduces three new Android smartphones, the Toshiba REGZA Phone IS04, Sharp IS05 and the Pantech SIRIUSα IS06. These three handsets will join the IS series of the phone lineup and are expected to be available after late December, 2010.

REGZA Phone IS04 – The first Android smartphone from Toshiba for Japan market. It features a slick and stylish design which is similar to Xperia, 4-inch screen with 854×480 resolution, 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU, one-segment TV tuner, microSDHC slot, 12.19 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, KDDI new WIN HIGH SPEED data connection with a data speed upto 9.2 Mbps (Download) + 5.5 Mbps (Upload) and Waterproof casing. This phone running on Android 2.1 and expected to be available around January 2011.

Sharp IS05 – A handy-sized smartphone intended for female users features 3.4-inch screen with 854×480 resolution, 1 GHz Snapdradon CPU, one-segment TV Tuner, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 8 megapixel camera with Autofocus, 720 video shooting capability, microSDHC slot. This phone running on Android 2.2 Froyo.

Pantech SIRIUSα IS06 – Also comes with Android 2.2 Froyo with multi touch panel using 3G icons, this phone features 3.4-inch screen with 800×480 resolution and running KDDI new WIN HIGH SPEED data connection with a data speed up to 9.2 Mbps (Download) + 5.5 Mbps (Upload). It also has one-segment TV Tuner, microSDHC slot and 5 megapixel camera with Autofocus. This phone is expected to be available in Japan from end of December 2010.
