Finally the TweetDeck for iPhone got an update to version 1.4. I’m sure many people have been waiting for an update for the app so long and so do i. That’s why i was so happy to see the update on my iTunes and did the update immediately. However, sadly to say, there’s still no multitasking support for iOS4 on this update. Instead, it’s only a bug fix release. Disappointing? Yes, me too.
The TweetDeck for iPhone 1.4 is intended to fix the landscape keyboard issues in iOS4. The other thing is now the app uses the Twitter xAuth API. I haven’t found another new thing on this update since there’s no official announcement from TweetDeck.
Well, it’s so ironic to see the TweetDeck team is now working very hard on the TweetDeck for Android while at the other side the iPhone users are waiting for the iOS multitasking support version. But looking at the latest info from TweetDeck team, it’s make sense as the team is working on porting the Android version to iPhone.
Interestingly Android TweetDeck also represents the future of our iPhone and iPad applications. We’ll have a few bug fix releases shortly (awaiting approval in the app store) but in the background we are working on porting Android to iPhone in as quick a time as possible. Finally, it won’t be long before most of the new concepts in Android TweetDeck make it to the desktop and web – we’re also working on this now.
It means in the future version, iPhone users and Android users will have the same look of the TweetDeck app.
