While Apple has “rejected” the Adobe Flash, Android is starting to open the door to the Adobe’s technologies. Adobe Flash, the one that is strictly prohibited by Apple for it’s iOS devices now available for Android. While the Adobe AIR for Android is expected to be available in the Android Market sometimes in Q4 2010.
The Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for Android currently supports the Nexus One device with Android 2.2 only. The Adobe Flash for Android works pretty well so far including in-line videos on browser, the ability to play nice with the multitouch browser and support for the accelerometer. However some Flash sites still doesn’t support this Android version. One of them is Hulu which is reportedly wants to charge mobile users to access it’s contents.
While for the Adobe AIR, it probably will not work on all Android devices due to it’s prerequisites that require an ARMv7 processor with a vector co-processor, OpenGL ES 2.0 and Froyo. However, if your device can handle Flash 10.1, it’s likely can run the AIR too.
