Lately i have been looking for a birtday and anniversaries app for my iPhone. I have tried some of them both the free and paid apps but none of them fit to what i need. I was almost frustrated until i found this cool app called Occasions. It was released on August 21st by Hand Carved Code, LLC. I have tested it on my iPhone with OS 3.0.1 and now i’m using it to record birthday and anniversaries of my friends and family.
Currently the app is on version 1.1.1 but just checked to the website that the version 2.0 is coming soon with a lot of new features, really excited to wait for that. Basically the app has the following features:
- Retrieve birthday, anniversaries and other dates from the contacts on your iPhone
- Add custom entries independently on your iPhone other than the contacts
- Displays the number of upcoming occassions on the home screen to one month in advance
- Add, edit and customize the photo of the entries
- Call, email and text messaging right from the application, as well as dates to new or existing contacts
- Search occassions list and also option to filter the list by the occasions
- 8 unique and exciting display themes
- Support Push Notifications for iPhone 3.0 OS or higher
So far i’m very satisfied with the app. It’s fast to load and really fun to use. It’s strongly recommended app for $0.99 only.

There is a better birthday app on AppStore: eAnniversary (only US$ 0.99).
eAnniversary will let you track: birthdays and anniversaries, with features to remember you and congratulate the other part.
Social networking is also present. Now you can share birthdays and anniversaries with your friends and family in Twitter and Facebook.
You may also update your Google calendar with eAnniversary data, and a lot more features! Check on:
