Palm Released webOS 1.1: Enhanced Support for Exchange ActiveSync and More


Palm just released the webOS 1.1 with several additions, fixes and changes to the previous version Palm webOS 1.0.4. Among those changes Palm highlighted the enhanced support for Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) Policies including the PIN/Password Required, Inactivity timeout, Remote Wipe, improved certificate handling, and more.

In addition to the mentioned above there are also many feature changes to the existing applications below:

  • Default reminder interval for calendar accounts on your phone are 15 minutes for timed events and one day for all-day events
  • The phone application opens more quickly when launched from the camera
  • Enhanced support for time zones in Clock
  • Synchronization between friends added or deleted on your Facebook and the Facebook account in Contacts on the phone now works correctly as well as the Google contact
  • Improvements in Messaging features including the emoticons, the time format, etc
  • Improved functionality of person reminders

And one more, in the webOS 1.1 Palm has resolved the issue preventing media sync from working with latest version of iTunes 8.2.1 so now you can have seamless access to your music, photos and videos through iTunes again.
