Responding to a thread on Google Mobile Help forum regarding the “Time Line for Push Gmail on the iPhone“, a Google Employee, Ethan confirmed that the Push Email support for Gmail App will be available for BlackBerry first in July, but not yet for the iPhone. The Push Email support for Gmail App is currently available for Android devices.
Hi everyone,
First off, just wanted to say thanks for your feedback. Vocal users are what makes this forum and ultimately our products better, and we welcome it when you take the time to speak up. We also listen when you do.
We’re not able to always respond to everyone, but we do our best to make sure your comments are acknowledged. To address the points originally brought up by Sufentanil, we hear you on push support for Gmail on the iPhone, both here and over in Google Product Ideas:I also hear you on wanting to know whether there’s anything in the pipeline for push Gmail on iPhone devices. I’d want to ask the same question if I were in your shoes. It’s not one we generally can answer, however:
Please keep the feedback coming and know that while we’re unable to share details or timelines, we’re always working to improve your experience with Google on mobile devices.Best,
EthanNote: As a reminder, push email support is currently available with the Gmail app on Android devices and will be available for Google Apps Premier Edition and Education Edition users with BlackBerry devices in July.
However the Push Email support will be available for Google Apps Premier and Education Edition users only, which means that you have to pay for that. So you may decide whether to go with that or not.
